Senior Program Manager, Process & Systems Transformation
We are seeking an experienced, driven, results-oriented Senior Program Manager to drive work related to strategic programs in Akamai’s Marketing organization. This role will manage complex programs impacting critical business goals and objectives and will lead cross-functional team(s) and subject matter experts in their development, planning, and execution. The Senior Program Manager will assemble a core team for each strategic program and will work with the team to define scope and success criteria, plan schedules, drive work efforts, and monitor project/program from inception through delivery. He/she will develop and manage communications with cross-functional team members and will be the primary point of contact for all other areas of the business including teams within and outside the Akamai Marketing organization. The Senior Program Manager will report into the Marketing Operations Team and will have visibility across Akamai's senior leadership as you report on the status of strategic initiatives to Senior Marketing leadership.
About the Team
The Marketing Operations team optimizes Akamai’s marketing effectiveness by delivering systems, analysis, data management, process, and field and customer enablement programs to increase revenue growth and create customers for life.
Responsibilities:
* Document program success criteria and build a program that will deliver against those criteria
* Drive work with key stakeholders in Marketing and across the business with Sales, Product, Finance, HR, IT, Operations & other Akamai organizations.
* Track, follow up on program dependencies and communicate status to upper management and required stakeholders within Akamai
* Document detailed agendas, meeting minutes, and action items from key cross-functional meetings
* Identify and manage areas of risk/opportunity, and influence and implement continuous improvements to the process
* Define and report on program status, issues and success metrics
* Follow guidance and best practices to successfully drive programs through the process to successful delivery
* Provide work direction, training and development to other cross-functional team members
* Define and use tools and business systems required to support the process
* Support cross-functional team(s) and subject matter expert with representatives from Sales, Product, Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Operations, and others in the establishment, planning and implementation of programs
* Estimate work efforts for the team and manage resources accordingly
* Work closely with the Akamai Marketing Directors and VPs to understand priorities, influence decisions, propose solutions and ensure success of key priorities
Required Education and Experience
* Minimum 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree
Required Skills
* 5+ years of experience with Program/Project Management or equivalent experience, ideally in a cross-functional technical delivery capacity
Desired Qualifications
* Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a wide range of constituencies in a diverse corporate and client environment
* Proven ability to deliver projects on time and on budget while communicating with key senior leaders
* Proficient with program and project management principles and practices, PMP certification or Big 5 Consulting experience preferred
* Proficient with business process, operations, and metric definition best practices
* Proficient with Risk and Issue management and resolution
* Proficient with high-tech internet industry & technical software implementations
* Detail and action-oriented self-starter
* Expertise with Microsoft Office and Google products
* Knowledge of JIRA, Smartsheets and other Program Management tools
