Senior Product Manager - Ad Tech
Overview
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager with a real passion for Ad Tech and digital video to work with many of the world’s largest media and entertainment companies to define and incubate the next generation of video monetization products.
Success in this dynamic environment will require strong technical aptitude and business savvy to identify market opportunities, a self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit, excellent communications skills and the ability to influence a diverse team.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Working with large media companies to identify challenges in their current ad workflows, and to uncover opportunities for Akamai to develop products to solve those challenges
* Leading a cross functional working group to perform market, customer and technical validation of product concepts
* Defining and rolling-out positioning of business solutions and crafting go-to-market plans
* Working with Engineering, Sales and Customers to establish 6 month working proof-of-concepts for new product ideas, including key milestones for each project
* Presenting vision and strategy for potential products externally and internally, including with Sr. Management
* Conducting financial and market analysis for new opportunities, including establishing TAMs and 3 to 5 year bottoms up revenue forecasts.

About the Team
This unique role is part of Akamai’s “Beyond Delivery” program, an internal incubator designed to discover, validate and grow new product opportunities. As part of the team you will be responsible for working directly with the companies shaping the future of online video and OTT to understand their monetization challenges, quickly prototype solutions, and establish market viability of potential products.
Required Education and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
* 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or
* 6 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree
Required Skills
* 8+ years of experience in product management, product development or business or equivalent experience
* 3+ years of product management within the digital advertising eco-system (DSP, SSP, Ad Servers, Ad Exchange, Ad Insertion, etc)
* 3+ years of experience in a customer facing role and in working with large media companies or publishers
Desired Skills
* Expertise in programmatic advertising and header bidding
* Experience with digital video and or familiarity with streaming technologies
* An entrepreneurial spirit with prior experience launching new products from inception or past experience working within a startup
* Ability to travel 10% to 15% of the time.
* Strong ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a broad range of technical and business audiences.
* Strong written and verbal communication
* Ability to influence and motivate others and perseverance to handle challenging business situations.
* Ability to capture data from the market and customers to analytically determine business priorities.
* Desire for on-going challenges and willingness to work within dynamic environment with limited direction
