Product Manager, Web Performance
Overview:
Akamai is looking for a Product Manager with the creativity, vision, drive, and experience to lead product planning and go-to-market activities for the growing product adjacencies within the Web Performance Business Unit. Success in this role requires building an understanding customer challenges and understanding which of them Akamai is set to resolve. of each type use our platform and working across various teams to uncover solutions that scale across these customer types.

Responsibilities
This individual would be responsible for one or more of the products in the Web Performance product line. Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:
*Represent the customer. Build strong customer relationships. Be the champion and voice of customers. Bring the customer's voice into the product development process.
*Be an expert on the domain, the market, the trends. Evangelize the vision constantly so all stakeholders are aligned, have context and understand where we are going.
*Own the product vision for your area. Ensure that it aligns with the overall product and company vision.
*Author use cases and prioritize requirements based on specific real-world product applications and extrapolate detailed product requirements for the scenarios.
*Manage the roadmap. Make prioritization decisions to adjust based on engineering tradeoffs and customer feedback.
*Collaborate across teams. Product managers play a critical role in creating alignment between engineering teams and stakeholders. A collaborative attitude is a must.
*Measure success. Define and own the measures used to define success for your product.
*Develop new opportunities based on customer feedback and market dynamics.
*Understanding of Responsibilities would include:
* Understand and analyze customer needs
* Shape conceptual ideas into finished products
* Validate your design hypotheses with our customers
* Define the package and enhancement needs for specific target areas
* Define pricing and validate pricing and potential bundle options
* Collaborate with UX expert to design beautiful and intuitive interfaces from concept to production
* Drive sales focus & execution on the key target areas
* Follow industry trends and competition to adjust product strategy and roadmap
* Drive plans with Industry Marketing, Product Marketing, Marketing Programs, and Sales Teams

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
* 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent or
* 6 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or
* 3 years of relevant experience and a PhD
Required skills
Education: BA/BS Degree, MBA preferred or equivalent industry experience
*3+ years of experience with product management or product marketing or equivalent experience
*2+ years of experience with internet, digital ads or e-commerce technologies
Desired Skills
*Exceptional communication, presentation, organizational and analytical skills
*Demonstrated experience in gathering and transforming customer needs into an actionable product vision and requirements definition
*Excellent organizational skills, analytic capabilities, and attention to detail
*Ability to assess new markets, analyze business opportunities and execute against them
*Understanding of product management & product marketing discipline – including product lifecycle management and some experience with product line strategic planning
*Highly self-motivated and self-sufficient
*Creative and out-of-the-box thinker
*Proven track record in growing a product business and working within a cross-functional environment to drive result
