The EIS Architecture team is responsible for the architecture of the network, video and telecom infrastructure that carries our global enterprise traffic, and we are responsible for the security, stability and performance of the corporate network environment. You will be part of Enterprise Infrastructure Services who support Corporate IT infrastructure. COPIED FROM PREVIOUS JOBS

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and developing new and enhancing existing capabilities for Akamai's customer facing reporting and data warehousing services
• Following our SW development methodology to develop best practices
• Participating in projects for the design and development of features and components to build enhanced data-warehousing solutions
• Partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver market mission critical data systems
• Building powerful, intuitive, next generation web applications to ensure an consistent user experience for our control centre customers
• Creating and sharing knowledge with teams and colleagues to build a progressive and learning team culture
• Leading feature developments from idea inception through to design, testing to operational deployment

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelors degree in a Computer Science related discipline
• Have expertise in developing in software in Java
• Have an strong understanding of massive data systems platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and design principles (Data Modeling, Streaming vs Batch processing, Distributed Messaging)
• Have experience with Linux distributed systems
• Be self-motivated, highly responsible, strong communication skills.
• Possess an understanding of common internet protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP(S), SSH, SSL
• Be familiar with CI/CD methodologies
