Our Network Operations Command Center (NOCC) monitors, troubleshoots and maintains Akamai's deployed network in a 24/7 environment. Our proactive stance enables Akamai to deliver content and applications, regardless of network traffic. We have the best view of the world's largest distributed platform and are the eyes and hands that keep it running.

Partner with the best

As a Platform Operations Manager you will lead a team of managers responsible for the daily operations of their site location

  • Building and maintaining a team of NOCC engineers, technicians and managers with the skills to safely maintain Akamai’s Intelligent Platform
  • Managing 24/7 network operations center shift schedule and following operations center workflow procedures
  • Acting as an escalation point within the NOCC to ensure customer issues are resolved and internal SLAs are achieved
  • Overseeing reporting and forecasts metrics to ensure scheduled work is delivered on-time and to identify improvements to processes
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create technical solutions and support ongoing implementation of network improvements

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 8 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant related technical field or it's equivalent
  • Have experience as a manager and experience leading project teams
  • Display solid experience of administering, monitoring and resolving issues in a high availability platform environment
  • Demonstrate experience of Linux/Unix system administration and knowledge of SQL and Scripting languages
  • Have excellent communication and written skills to articulate technical information to internal teams and external customers
