This position will be incharge of Fixed Asset Accounting. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for:

* Invoice review/documentation and accounting data input into Oracle Fixed Assets system-Initial responsibility to be mainly accounting for fixed assets with intention to grow and own additional tasks such as coding of fixed asset invoices for AP, sales and use tax accruals, etc.
* Ensure safe storage of capitalized Fixed Asset invoices for review.
* Review Depreciation Schedule.
* Assist with general ledger responsibilities including booking monthly recurring journal entries, booking monthly prepaid takedowns and other miscellaneous items as needed.
* Participate in monthly, quarterly & year-end close cycles including performing various account reconciliations as needed.
* Assist in Internal & External Audits.
* Update and strengthen internal controls and procedures.
* Ensure strict compliance with Akamai’s accounting Policies including SOX controls.
* Perform special projects as may be required within the accounting department.

About the Team


Required Education and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
* 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree {add Degree info here} or its equivalent or
* Relevant experience and a Master’s degree or PhD {add Specific Degree here} or
* Relevant Professional Experience


Required Skills
* Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in IT industry.
* Working knowledge of GAAP.



Desired Skills
*Ability to work independently, be a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
*Strong computer skills are essential, experience with MS excel a must
*Oracle experience a plus.
*Must be a real “team player” with a “can-do” attitude with a solutions oriented personality.
*Detail-orientated.
*Excellent people skills a must along with exceptional verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills required.
