Our Linode Operations Center (LOC) monitors, troubleshoots and maintains Linode's deployed infrastructure in a 24/7 environment. Our Operations Center enables Linode's cloud infrastructure to deliver content and applications, regardless of network traffic.

As a Platform Operations Engineer, you will be part of a 24/7 Operations Center. You'll be responsible for monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, break/fix, and the ongoing maintenance of Linode's cloud infrastructure.
You will be dedicated to providing a better customer experience by quickly detecting customer-impacting issues and mitigating problems.

As a Platform Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Managing and resolve incidents/issues from start to finish, owning initial investigation and troubleshooting to determine root cause and resolution
• Handling internal and external communication (status page, tickets, etc.) as well as triaging and resolving escalations from our customers
• Creating and/or update procedures, run-books, diagrams, and other documentation on a continual basis
• Partnering with senior engineering teams during scheduled or emergency maintenance activity

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 1-2 years relevant experience or a Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field
• Have experience working in a Systems administration or DevOps role
• Experience supporting mission-critical Linux servers in virtualized environments
• Have familiarity with best practices of systems architecture, design, and high-performance tuning
• Experience in a hosting environment or other cloud-based IAAS or SAAS
• Have good communication and written skills to articulate technical information to internal teams and external customers
