This team will establish well-defined processes and deliverables of close activities, along with optimizing existing ones and become the subject matter experts in close related systems.  The team will coordinate with many groups within the broader Global Accounting Organization to support the reporting and systems of Akamai’s financial close processes.

Partner with the best

You will be a key member of the corporate reporting and close team, with complete oversight of monthly close and system administrative duties related to Akamai’s close processes and expansion, including working with business stakeholders, such as Corporate Reporting & GL Close Team, Center of Excellence and Business Improvements team.

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for:

Having oversight of the monthly close process including managing close calendars, checklists, and key metrics

Performing consolidation and various month-end close responsibilities with Oracle GL module

Coordinating Oversight of the monthly close process including managing close calendars, checklists, and key metrics

Serving as administrator for close systems, Cadency and FCC, to ensure proper maintenance and SOX controls compliance

Assisting with population of reports, including balance sheet package, BvA analyses, SEC filings and press release tables

Collaborating with Business Improvements team to optimize or develop new reports

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5 years of relavant experience

Have comprehensive experience in monthly close processes, general ledger accounting and established US GAAP knowledge

Have experience maintaining SOX compliance

Demonstrate excellent understanding of Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLookups, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite tools

Have ability to analyze and prepare financial data, attention to detail, willingness to identify and solve problems

Demonstrate the ability to work independently, balance several projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines

Be a good team player and collaborate with people from across the business
